PCA Spotlight Video: Replacing the battery in a first-generation Porsche Cayenne
PCA—When Executive Director Vu Nguyen's 2006 Porsche Cayenne S threw a code indicating a four-wheel-drive system fault, #2039, there were a couple options at hand. He could try to diagnose a potential fault in the transmission, or he could find out whether the battery was the culprit. We decided to focus on the battery first.

Members take Porsche SUVS off-road on SoCal desert trails
PCA—Cayenne and Macan owners in the San Diego Region hit the trails on January 25 for a fun and challenging drive in the Anza Borrego Desert State Park. Like most of the off-road adventures the San Diego Region puts on, the plan was to experience three or so hours of off-roading on trails that would not only challenge the vehicles, but provide their drivers some direct experience and help them learn to navigate challenging terrain. The turnout for this event was great with 10 Cayennes that represented all three generations, with models ranging from base models to Turbos, GTSs, and Diesels. Rounding out the group were two intrepid Macans, a shiny black GTS and a white S model. The new third-generation Cayenne joining our group was a Turbo that was well prepared for the drive.

2020 Porsche Macan GTS: Drives like a big hot hatch with big power
PCA—At this point, pretty much everyone reading this knows by heart what the Porsche AG press materials reiterate: No matter which model range, “the GTS models are some of the sportiest, most dynamic and most emotive vehicles in their segment.” This was certainly true in 2015 when the first iteration of the Macan GTS was introduced. And now five years later, even in the face of a new wave of sporty crossovers from the likes of Alfa Romeo, BMW, and Mercedes-Benz/AMG, the Macan GTS remains the most fun-to-drive vehicle in its class.

The base Panamera GTS is an impressive machine, but like all other Porsches, it’s endlessly customizable. 2020 Porsche Taycan crushes its EPA range in our exclusive test
Autoblog—A nondescript white van rolls up beside my blue 2020 Porsche Taycan Turbo as I sit at a red light on the Pacific Coast Highway near Huntington Beach, Calif. The driver rolls down his window, gives a hearty thumbs up, and makes it clear via additional hand signals that he wants to see me stand on it. His grinning passenger leans forward and seconds the motion with an enthusiastic nod. I roll down my own window.

Video: How to not get stuck in the snow — Drive a Porsche Cayenne
PCA—The first-generation Porsche Cayenne is known for being a capable machine on the road, yet few owners take them off road in spite of being well-equipped to do just that. Todd Deeken of the EveryDay Driver YouTube channel recently decided to show us how he didn't get stuck in a snowbank on a dicey, snow-covered road in Park City, Utah, during a snow storm in his wife's base 2010 Cayenne. Highlighting the fact that this Cayenne has low-range gearing specifically for off-roading — subsequent generations of the SUV did not have this feature.

Henry Catchpole gets behind the wheel of the 2020 Porsche Macan GTS in Portugal.
Carfection via YouTube—I've always thought of the Porsche Macan as a small SUV. Relatively speaking, it is, because the Cayenne is the big one in Porsche's SUV lineup. And compared with a Lincoln Navigator or a Range Rover or a BMW X7 or countless others, it is rather diminutive. But then I looked at the spec sheet for this new GTS and was surprised to find that it isn't actually that much smaller or lighter than its peppery sibling. It weighs the better part of 4,400 pounds, which is only about 200 pounds shy of a Cayenne with the same engine.

Porsche Panamera GTS First Test: Introducing the Sport *Limousine*
MotorTrend—Sport limousine. It sounds a complete contradiction in terms: a car that's big and fast and luxurious, yet also punchy and nimble and fun to drive. But Porsche's Panamera GTS squares that circle. It gives you all the luxury you'd expect from the company's flagship four-door, along with a sporty drive experience that, on a challenging mountain road, will leave you whooping with delight.

Porsche Taycan Turbo S vs. Tesla Model S Performance: Electric Flattery
Car and Driver—We didn't set out to dangle the competition under Tesla's nose. The plan was merely to line up a Tesla Model S against a Porsche Taycan—the Tesla's first true challenger—to see if there's a new EV front-runner. But if you want to experience the most powerful Supercharger in the greater Los Angeles area, you're going to find yourself at SpaceX's Hawthorne headquarters, which is also home to Tesla's design studio. As we set up the Model S for a max-charging session, Tesla employees mobbed the Taycan.

Porsche Macan, Porsche Cayenne SUVs lead brand's transformation
USA Today—For generations, Porsche has been known to its loyal fans as a brand with exquisitely designed and engineered sports cars. Specialty vehicles like the tiny-but-powerful 911 sport coupe have been central to its identity. But in recent years, the Volkswagen Group luxury brand has transformed itself into a maker of sport utility vehicles brand with lower prices and bigger sales. Yes, Porsche still sells cars but they’ve taken a backseat to SUVs in terms of sales. In 2019, SUVs made up more than two-thirds of Porsche's U.S. sales, up from less than one-third in 2010.

I drove a $144,000 Porsche Panamera GTS Sport Turismo to see if this high-performance wagon was as good as it looks — here's the verdict
Business Insider—Don't pity the ungainly Porsche Panamera. The four-door that everybody loves to hassle for its looks has been improved, unexpectedly, by the addition of a wagon trim to the lineup. Remarkably, the ugly sedan has become a more swan-like estate. Well, not really. But adding rear volume has ironically made the Panamera's bulbous back end tolerable. Meanwhile, even though I don't like V8 Porsches all that much, or even at all, I found that when Stuttgart's US representatives flipped me the keys to a 2019 Panamera GTS Sport Turismo.

Watch: Chris Harris slides the fully-electric Porsche Taycan super sedan
Driven—Whilst the former hosts of Top Gear UK may have been known for their bumbling on-screen antics, current host Chris Harris is more famous for getting extremely expensive cars sideways. When he got his hands on Porsche's latest creation, the fully-electric Taycan Turbo S, he wasted no time in showing what serious performance the super sedan possesses. In the preview of the next episode, Harris takes the Taycan to the iconic Top Gear test track.

Current Porsche Macan to be sold alongside redesigned electric version
Motor Authority—Porsche a year ago announced that its next-generation Macan will be a battery-electric model based on a dedicated EV platform being developed jointly by Porsche and fellow Volkswagen Group brand Audi. It's expected to debut in 2022 or 2023, which is about when the current Macan will be reaching the end of Porsche's typical seven-year lifecycle. But even at that date not everyone will be ready to make the switch to an EV so Porsche will continue selling the current Macan alongside the redesigned model.

Believe the Hype: The Porsche Macan S Is Every Bit a True Porsche
Gear Patrol—When Porsche introduced its first SUV, the Cayenne, in 2002, enthusiasts lost their mind over the idea of the archetypal sports car company betraying its heritage by serving up a jacked-up soft-roader. (Not helping matters: the fact that it looked like a bloated fish carcass.) But the crossover proved a gold mine for the company, providing the funds that helped enable the continued excellence of the 911 and Cayman / Boxster, as well as projects like the 918 Spyder and the company’s return to the top tier of endurance motor racing.

Rugged Luxury: Porsche Macan S vs Subaru Outback
PCA—My two-car garage has two SUVs. Call me typically American, as we Americans simply love our SUVs. Porsche has now long understood this, capitalizing on it with its introduction of the Cayenne in 2003, followed by the smaller, more agile Macan in 2014. While the Cayenne is more likely an American’s idea of an SUV, the Macan is much closer to an actual Sport Utility Vehicle. In a sense, the Macan S, GTS, or Turbo, are the closest things you can get to a raised-up five-door Carrera 4 or 4S.

Bugatti Boss Drives A Panamera Sport Turismo, Changes Car Every Year
Motor1—While you might think that Bugatti CEO Stephan Winkelmann drives a Bugatti daily, you'd be surprised that he actually drives a Porsche – specifically, a Panamera Sport Turismo. This was revealed via Winkelmann's interview with Autocar, which revealed that the Bugatti chief is actually changing his car every year. He also added that he drives Bugattis every now and then to see the latest things, and his extensive work with Audi makes him inclined to like an RS.

Prior Proper Planning Prevents Poor Performance Partner
PCA— You probably do not think of this for short trips around town but mentally you know, weekend picnic planning is more involved. What will the weather be like, does the food need to be refrigerated, bring bicycles, bocce ball, croquet set, etc. Longer trips require a lot more planning influenced by many factors. For us the extreme Arctic weather and remoteness of where we are going this month definitely makes for a different mindset. For instance we are bringing two full size spare tires vs our normal one for around town.
